Will there be 2 different Ghost Face masks in Wes Craven’s Scre4m?

You tired of the same old Ghost Face?

Now that filming is underway for Wes Craven’s SCRE4M, expect our coverage of the film to expand immensely between now and April 15, 2011 (when the film’s released). And why not kick it off with a bit of Twitter news?!?

Turns out a man named RJ Torbert, part of the Funworld manufacturing team that created the all-familiar Ghost Face mask seen in the entire SCREAM franchise, has taken to his good ol’ twitter account to relay some pretty tantalizing deets surrounding the new entry. Here’s what Torbert had to spill:

“I expect there to be 2 diff masks, however I will say this, things changing very often – difficult to say without giving it away.”

“Sent out additional GHOSTFACE to the SET today, a very interesting opening scene.”

“Let’s just say, the town of Woodsboro, has an obsession. There is your hint.”

I honestly expect nothing less from Craven and writer Kevin Williamson. So much of the success of SCREAM is about its cleverness, it’s wink-wink knowledge of all things horror. To use the same old mask this go around, which it seems they will in some capacity, would only result in a stale outing…everything the original SCREAM was not. I’m actually down with a new mask. How about you?

Starring Neve Campbelle, Emma Roberts, Rory Culkin, David Arquette, Courteney Cox, Hayden Panettiere, Anthony Anderson, Lauren Graham, Marielle Jaffe, Nico Tortorella and Erica Hubbard – SCRE4M minces theaters April 15th, 2011.
