Don Cheadle and Freida Pinto join James Franco in The Rise of the Apes?

A few weeks back it was announced James Franco landed the lead in Rupert Wyatt’s RISE OF THE APES for 20th Century Fox. Today, according to Bloody-D, Don Cheadle (right) and Freida Pinto (below) are being courted to smear on the simian makeup. Think it’ll look good?

No confirmation has come from B-D, but something tell us they’re working from a bit more than mere rumor. If the missive proves true, Cheadle and Pinto will join Franco as the only actors cast thus far.

From writers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, RISE OF THE APES is an origins story set in present-day San Francisco. The film is a reality-based cautionary tale, where man’s own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy.

So what do ya think? Are Cheadle and Pinto a good fit? Who else would you rather see in the film?

RISE OF THE APES looks to dominate the globe June 24th, 2011. Only a year and a week away!
