Showtime’s 5th season of hit series “Dexter” has been getting a lot of play around here lately. In the last week or so, we’ve learned Julia Stiles, Julie Benz, Shawn Hatosy and Maria Doyle Kennedy have all been lined up as potential victims to all our favorite homicidal forensic expert. Well y’all, how ’bout another?!?
Entertainment Weekly has dropped exclusive word that “ER’s” April Lee Hernandez (below) is the latest to join the ever-growing roster of “Dexter” players. The site claims Hernandez will play a new cop (presumably) working in Miami Metro’s homicide department.
Hernandez, who you may recall as Nurse Inez on “ER” (as alluded to), appeared in Richard LaGravenese’s FREEDOM WRITERS back in 2007 and has since appeared in such various TV programs as “30 Rock”, “Rescue Me” and “Nurse Jackie.”
Hernandez’s cop character in ‘Dexter” adds to Stiles’ best friend role, Hatosy’s villain and Doyle Kennedy’s Irish nanny. Quite a selection for Dexter and his murderous proclivities, huh?!?
Season 5 of “Dexter” slaughters the airwaves September 26th.
Now there’s a cop I’d let book me any day!
