Vaca Films, the producers of the very well-regarded CELL 211 (which is currently on IFC OnDemand), is delving into even grimmer waters with the crime thriller NOWHERE, reports Screen Daily. The flick is budgeted at $5 million, and will be directed by Manuel Sanabria.
NOWHERE (En Ningun Lugar) is about a private detective called Jorge Rojo who normally investigates infidelities and drug dealers, but one day is drafted in to search for a young woman who mysteriously vanishes as she is writing a thesis on women that have disappeared. The detective then gets drawn into the murky crime world of organ dealers.
I have yet to see CELL 211 but it’s gotten some really splendid reviews, not to mention the fact that it won eight Goya Awards (Spain’s Oscar equivalent). Whether or not that success will follow them with NOWHERE will be interesting to find out. More on this one as we hear it…
Awesome…
