With now under month until Nimrod Antal’s PREDATORS refitting explodes into theaters, 20th Century Fox thinks it wise to start screening TV ads for the picture. Good thing for all us salivating fan-boys, because the short glimpse we have below actually manages to give us some cool imagery we haven’t seen before. Not much, but with a flick like this, any news is good news!
The one shot that particularly caught my eye is where we see a wide shot of the jungle, as a herd of what appear to be four legged predators gallop after our anti-heroic group of mercenaries. Also, there’s a rapid shot of who I think is Louis Ozawa Changchien’s character being lifted face to face with a blood-parched alien. Some pretty rad shite, yo!
Written by Michael Finch and Alex Litvak, PREDATORS a bold new chapter in the Predator universe, shot under the creative auspices of Robert Rodriguez, stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who’ve come to realize they’ve been brought together on an alien planet…as prey. With the notable exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold blooded killers – mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members – human “predators” that are now being systematically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators.
Larry Fishburne, Adrien Brody, Alice Braga, Walton Goggins, Topher Grace, Danny Trejo, Derek Mears, Brian Steele, Carey Jones, Oleg Taktarov and Mahershalalhashbaz Ali also play vital roles in the film.
