New featurette for [Rec] 2 calls the flick a cross between Alien & The Exorcist?

Y’all dig that explosive new clip from [REC] 2 yesterday? That shite was the tits, right?

Well, a new featurette for the film has made its way onto the internet today, courtesy of Magnolia Releasing. And this one’s actually a bit different. Instead of hearing from people involved in the actual production of [REC] 2, we hear Robert Wilonsky, Host of the Sneak Preview Show on HDNet, gives his introduction and take on the movie.

Though we don’t see a ton of new footage, it is kinda interesting to hear this cat talk about the large role the Catholic Church plays in the film and how he sees an amalgamation of ALIEN and THE EXORCIST in the final product. I haven’t seen the film yet, so I can’t attest or refute such a claim, but any flick that evokes such heavyweight horror titles must be doing something right.

Infecting theaters July 9th, [REC] 2 literally continues:

Only minutes since the authorities lost contact with those trapped inside the virus-stricken apartment block, now completely sealed off from the outside world. Chaos reigns outside and a SWAT team, equipped with video cameras, has been sent in to try and control the situation. However, no one is prepared for the evil that awaits them and, once again, they must keep recording…no matter what!

Check out the Official Site as well as our entire video section devoted to the film.
