Those pesky zombies are on the move again – this time (not for the first time) they’ve sprung up after the apocalypse has wiped out most of humanity… First Earth Films announced today that Alan Tudyk (SERENITY, I, ROBOT) has joined their horror-comedy FIRST PLATOON, about a ragtag squad of zombie hunters in the post apocalyptic Southwest. Tudyk will be playing Rock Brannigan, the leader of the platoon.

Also in the cast: genre vets Malcolm McDowell (A CLOCKWORK ORANGE), Sid Haig (THE DEVIL’S REJECTS) and John Kassir (aka The Crypt Keeper), as well as relative newcomers Arron Shiver and Jennifer Skylar.

The screenplay was written by Chris Gabriel, who will also direct; filming will take place in Albuquerque, New Mexico and release is scheduled for late 2010/early 2011.
