With the wide releases of both INCEPTION and PREDATORS next month, let’s not forget about the underdog that is [REC] 2. Honestly, since the Paco Plaza/Jaume Balaguero follow up opens the same day as Nimrod Antal’s franchise reboot, I think my plan is to pay for one and sneak into the other. Could make for a helluva double feature. Question then becomes, which ticket do I pay for? Support the lesser known, foreign indie flick, or shell out some hard earned doe to 20th Century Fox? Doesn’t seem like a tough decision, does it?

Anyhoo, it appears Filmax has just released a pretty savage new clip for [REC] 2, one that warns we should all “take it easy.” Not sure about you, but if I saw a gaggle of foam-drooling corpses darting at me with NFL combine speed, the last thing I’d be doing is taking her easy. Call me crazy.

Plaguing theatergoers July 9th, [REC 2] shapes up like this:

Only minutes have passed since the authorities lost contact with those trapped inside the virus-stricken apartment block, now completely sealed off from the outside world. Chaos reigns outside and a SWAT team, equipped with video cameras, has been sent in to try and control the situation. However, no one is prepared for the evil that awaits them and, once again, they must keep recording…no matter what!

Manuela Velasco (below), Ferran Terrazza, Jonathan Mellor, Oscar Zafra, Ariel Casas, Pablo Rosso and Pep Molina all take part in the film.

Enjoy the new clip, I did quite a bit!
