UPDATE: As mostly expected, Dimension was quick to dispel this peice of news from Star Magazine as mere rumor. Jennifer Aniston WILL NOT be taking part, large or small, in SCRE4M. It was fun for a day or so though, wasn’t it!

From LEPRECHAUN to Ghostface?

Some fascinating rumblings have seeped out of the always credible source, Star Magazine, that Jennifer Aniston may be reuniting with her “Friends” co-star Courteney Cox-Arquette in SCRE4M. Say what???

No telling how candid this tidbit is, but it certainly perked our ears right the f*ck up. According to the site, Jen will play a woman who’s killed off in the opening sequence, a trademark of the franchise — as a favor to BFF and Scream actress Courteney. The role will be similar to Drew Barrymore’s killer part in the first film.

Aniston made the announcement while out supporting Cox-Arquette at the Crystal + Lucy Awards just last night, so expect this piece to either be recanted or substantiated in the near future.

But, if this bit of news turns out to be true, what do you all think? Is Aniston getting gorily whacked in the opening sequence of SCRE4M something you’d be down with? Do you think such a big name and the obvious “Friends” reference may actually hurt the overall flow of the picture? Would you rather see Aniston go head to head with Warwick Davis again in LEPRRCHAUN BACK 2 SPACE?

Let’s hear it!

SCRE4M, which films this month in Michigan, shreds theaters April 15th, 2011.
