British stage and America t.v. director Michael Morris is making the transition to the big screen with GOLDEN GATE, a “crazy bitch” thriller being prepped by Summit Entertainment.
Described as being in the vein of STRANGERS ON THE TRAIN and SINGLE WHITE FEMALE (probably more the latter), the script follows a female track star who has distanced herself from her past bad behavior and makes a new best friend without realizing the woman is crazy and framing her for murder.
Morris is an executive producer and director on the ABC show “Brothers and Sisters” (yeah, I dunno either), but is better known across the pond as an acclaimed director of the theater. At 23, he became the youngest-ever director of a theater in London’s West End, and I guess you’ve got to give him props for that… Let’s see how he tackles one of our favorite sub-genres; there should be at least one scene where the crazy bitch sits alone in a room ripping something (photos, sheets, her own hair) to shreds in a screaming rage.
Emily VanCamp, who is apparently in “Brothers and Sisters”
