Twitter is sometimes more useful than it appears. Every once in a while, actors, writers and director let slip little details that enlighten us to a film’s status, or at least open up a wider range of speculation. Take the following tweet from screenwriter John August from earlier today:
“Visiting Frankenweenie sets. It’s big and tiny at once.”
Earlier tweets of August’s reveal that he’s currently in London, where Tim Burton has shot a majority of his recent films.
Of course, it has been a veritable guessing game about what Tim Burton’s next film is going to be. Back in March, Disney producer Don Hahn announced that indeed, FRANKENWEENIE was just about ready to move forward, having a finished script. Since then, however, he’s been attached to no less than three other projects, the most recent being MAI THE PSYCHIC GIRL.
So does the fact that there are FRANKENWEENIE sets prove that it’s Burton’s next? Considering the fact that his last movie made $1 billion, the man can do just about whatever he wants…
