Is Sharlto Copley a name that’s gaining traction in your household?

It should. Not only did the man deliver a helluva leading performance in last year’s DISTRICT 9, dude landed the high-profile gig of THE A-TEAM’s Murdock as a result (he’s also been in the news for allegedly making waves with studio brass over certain performance elements, on both THE A-TEAM and DJ Caruso’s I AM NUMBER FOUR). Be that as it may, Copley (shown right) seems to be putting the finishing touches on his directorial debut, a supernatural thriller entitled SPOON. And thanks to the fine folks of Twitch, we have the first look at the film for you below. Peep it…

Co-written and directed by Simon Hansen, SPOON is described as a “thriller with supernatural overtones about a man with a medical condition that causes him to black out during moments of extreme stress and leads him to make a remarkable discovery about himself”

Not too bad, eh? Sounds like some disturbing psychological mayhem. Could be a lot worse!

Rutger Hauer plays the titular Victor Spoon, with support coming from Darren Boyd, Jason Cope, Shane Manie, Edmund Dehn, Ger Carey, Ronald France, Edwina Elek, George Jackos and Raymond Collins.

Now that SPOON nears completion, hopefully we’ll have more for you soon!

Enjoy the first look!

The unparalleled yardwork of Copley’s A-TEAM co-star, Jessica Biel!
