Based on a tip from site fan “Serena”, and further confirmed by the IMDb and a “verified” Twitter page, it would seem that actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is currently shooting Matthijs van Heijningen Jr.’s THE THING prequel in Toronto… Funny, he doesn’t look Norwegian.
Akinnuoye-Agbaje (try to say that name two times fast) is perhaps best known for his television work, from playing the absolutely awesome Simon Adebisi on “Oz” to the mysterious Mr. Eko on “Lost”. His film credits include G.I. JOE, THE MUMMY RETURNS and THE BOURNE IDENTITY. He recently wrapped filming on FASTER, starring The Rock, Billy Bob Thornton and Maggie Grace.

But it is about to wake up.

And in this vast, intense land, a parasite that can mimic anything it touches will pit human against human as it tries to survive and flourish.
THE THING doesn’t have a release date as of yet, but we can probably expect it in 2011.
