Men In Black 3 hits May 2012; Is Josh Brolin on board?

It’s been a “will he or won’t he?” affair (for those who cared) with Will Smith and MEN IN BLACK 3, as the actor has debated his next move as an actor (and obviously the film can’t move forward without him), but looks like now we can file it under “he will”, according to Deadline.com. The site is reporting that the film is officially official, having been stamped with a MAY 25, 2012 release date. Barry Sonnenfeld will direct once again, and it’s going to be in 3D.

That’s not all. Tommy Lee Jones is back, and Josh Brolin, who has been rumored as a castmember since December, is still “negotiating” – which means it’s all but set in stone. Brolin will play the younger version of Tommy Lee Jones’s Agent Kay character. Obviously, this means there’s a time travel angle; Deadline writes that some of the flick will be set in 1969.

Etan Cohen (TROPIC THUNDER) wrote the original screenplay, which has undergone revisions by David Koepp, Hollywood’s go-to script doctor. No word on when production might begin.

Finally, a memo to Sony: Actually SHOOT in 3D!
