Ben Wheatley (pictured) has already etched a name for himself with the crime thriller DOWN TERRACE, which has made the festival rounds to almost universal praise. (It’s been called “Coen Brothers-esque” almost as universally.) It’s not being released here in the states until August, but Wheatley isn’t letting the grass grow – he’s moving on. And he’s walking right into our genre!
According to Deadline.com, Wheatley is getting ready to shoot THE KILL LIST this summer, with production company Film4 (IN BRUGES) financing. What’s it all about? It’s evidently a horror film concerning a group of demobbed soldiers turned contract killers who run up against a devil-worshipping coven.
Wheatley plans to shoot the film in matter-of-factly, saying “It’s about making banging genre films and treating them in a realistic way.”
