If you’ve thought you’ve seen it all, think again. In an age when remakes and sequels are all the rage, there continues to be original work out there in the horror genre, you just have to look past the mainstream to find them. THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE is one that immediately pops into my head for originality, as well as…. THE OATMEAL MAN!
What the shit is THE OATMEAL MAN, you ask? Are you for real, you wonder? Would I even consider lying to you about something as epic as THE OATMEAL MAN? Hell nah. Directed by Sean Gordon from a script by Jesse Gordon, THE OATMEAL MAN goes a little something like this: Happy End: once the home of the Friendly Oatmeal Factory, now a long-forgotten ghost town in the middle of nowhere—and an unintended stopover for six best friends who are about to discover the true meaning of terror.
It makes sense that a killer food man hybrid would happen with Oatmeal because Oatmeal is kinda nasty–in the looks department, if not the taste. It looks like vomit or anal leakage or a combination of the two, so having a character be Oatmeal just kind of… works.
But does it work really? Check out the trailer below for the low budget madness and spit some bullets as to your thoughts. Yeah, it looks cheap, yeah it looks stupid, but we’re talking THE OATMEAL MAN here, people! What more would you expect??
