AMC’s “The Walking Dead” is moving forward at a steady clip, which is stupendous news for those of us who absolutely can’t wait to see Frank Darabont’s vision of a zombie apocalypse – in t.v. series form, no less! The show has just added another castmember, and it shouldn’t be any surprise for those who are familiar with Darabont’s work: Jeffrey DeMunn.

DeMunn has been in all of Darabont’s films: THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, THE GREEN MILE (pictured right), THE MAJESTIC and THE MIST (pictured below). He’s even in THE BLOB remake, which Darabont co-wrote. He’s a reliable character actor, one of “those guys” who you see in everything. His character has not been revealed, however.

Here’s what Darabont told FEARnet about the casting: “I’ve always said Jeff DeMunn is my good luck charm, and I can’t make a film without him. We’ve just gotten him on board as one of the ensemble members, which is a great joy for me. One of the great pleasures of doing anything is to be able to reconvene with those colleagues who have the talent and provide you with the comfort zone of great collaborative, positive energy.”

Shooting begins next month, with Andrew Lincoln and Jon Bernthal also among the cast.
