Director Jon Favreau is one busy guy right now, preparing for the release of one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) movies of the summer with IRON MAN 2, and casting and all sorts of prep-work for his next film, COWBOYS & ALIENS.

So far the film has an impressive line-up, including Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, and Olivia Wilde, and today another name is joining the cast, though not nearly as epic as Ford or Craig. According to Variety, THE LAST AIRBENDER’s Noah Ringer has joined the rest of the C&A for an undisclosed role, by which I mean there hasn’t been any information released on it just yet. So right now, we can only speculate…

That is, if you really care. Which I’m guessing most people don’t, considering he’s just a little kid. My guess is he’ll be playing a little kid in the film as well–and probably not one belonging to Craig, Ford, or Wilde. He’ll be an orphan or something who can kick a lot of alien ass. But that’s just a guess at this point…

Written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Damon Lindelof, C&A goes a little like this: The sci-fi Western, based on the Platinum Studios Comics graphic novel, explores what would happen if the traditional Old West enemies — cowboys and Native Americans — found the prairie attacked by aliens in mid-1800s Arizona.

Talk about epic. Stick around for more casting announcements, and get ready for COWBOYS & ALIENS in theaters everywhere July 29, 2011.
