Any movie that features some naked hottie who turns into a wild beast of a thing (but remains to be naked and a hottie), has to earn some points in someone’s book, right? It’s not everyday shit like that happens on the big screen, which makes me proud to present to you the trailer for a little movie called…. THE SHRIVEN.
We last showed you some of the SHRIVEN back in June of 2008 (relive the magic HERE), and the question remains… what the hell is THE SHRIVEN about, anyway? Check this shit out: Ben has always been troubled by violent nightmares about himself killing other people. Now they’re getting worse and he doesn’t know why — until he meets Nina, a beautiful woman with a secret — in the dark of night she can transform into a demonic killing machine known as a Shriven. Ben, she reveals, is also a Shriven and he is destined to become her mate. However, Ben is horrified to learn that Shriven must feed on humans in order to live.
There’s nothing like coining a phrase like the “shriven” and have it not only sound legit, but have it sound pretty flippin’ cool as well. You may also have seen this movie when it was called NEAR DARK, where it wasn’t Shrivens running around, but Vampires. If you don’t quite catch the NEAR DARK vibe from the synopsis, check out the trailer below… then you’ll get a pretty good idea of what I mean.
Directed by Brian Schiavo, the film is still looking for distribution, so if you like what you see, and you have lots of money and know the right people… pick this shit up and distribute it, yo! Sex and horror sell, and this thing is gushing with both!
