After last year’s breathtaking THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT, I’ve been keeping my eye on director Dennis Iliadis as I can’t wait to see what he has for us next.

A couple weeks ago it was announced that Iliadis would be directing the Keanu Reeves starring JEKYLL AND HYDE, and today (according to Variety) it appears that he’s attached to direct another movie as well: PAY THE GHOST for Sidney Kimmel Entertainment.

The supernatural thriller, adapted by Dan Kay from a short story by Tim Lebbon, goes a little something like this: the story kicks off on Halloween night, when a couple’s young son is mysteriously abducted. A year later, they begin to sense his presence in frightening ways. A string of terrifying clues draws them to search for the boy throughout New York, where they uncover ancient secrets and discover a vicious, vengeful spirit.

Nothing like a solid ghost story to keep the blood pumping, though they could do with locking a better title because the current one suuuuucks. But no bother, yo. It sounds cool and could be the perfect vehicle for Iliadis to prove he’s more than just a one-hit-remake-wonder.

But what does this mean for JEKYLL AND HYDE? Is it on hold? Will GHOST film afterwards? Was it just a rumor to begin with? Stick around as we try to solve the mystery…
