Earlier this month, we were all terrified by the rumor that Michael Bay was in line to direct ROSEMARY’S BABY; not a crazy concept since Platinum Dunes was at one time toying with the idea of remaking the classic Roman Polanski film. (They pronounced it dead last year.)
Bay took to his official site’s forum and addressed the ROSEMARY’S BABY rumor: “No just a bad rumor. Not true at all. The same can be said for the Birds – we never considered that remake for Platinum Dunes.”
That’s not true at all. In a chat with Brad Fuller and Andrew Form on the set of NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, they unequivocally spoke about remaking THE BIRDS, as well as talked about ROSEMARY’S BABY. Hell, the fact that they were (or are) planning on remaking THE BIRDS has been common knowledge for quite a while. Why Bay would deny this, I don’t know, but let’s just thank god he’s taken himself out of the ROSEMARY’S BABY discussion once and for all.
