28 Weeks Later’s Juan Carlos Fresnadillo to helm horror/thriller Intruders

So what’d you all think of Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s 2007 flick 28 WEEKS LATER? Pretty f*ckin’ solid sequel, right?

Well, not only is the dude currently in pre-production on BIO-SHOCK, word out of Variety today states the dude is lining up a new English language horror/thriller entitled INTRUDERS. The missive also states awesome English actor Clive Owen (right) is poised to star, along with equally talented Spanish actor Daniel Bruhl (he played Fredrick Zoller in INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS). Now that, my friends, is the way to cast a horror flick!

Scripted by Jamie Marques and Nico Casariego, INTRUDERS revolves around an 11 year old girl who is forced to confront childhood demons.

Damn, with a logline as vague as that, this bastard could swing anywhere from POLTERGEIST territory to something like THE ORPHANAGE. Not like I’m sweating it too hard mind you, I’ll pretty much watch anything with Clive Owen in it (find and watch the film CROUPIER if you haven’t already!)

Antenna 3 and Universal International will produce INTRUDERS, with filming set to commence in London and Madrid this June.

Early thoughts on INTRUDERS? You diggin’ the pairing of Owen and Bruhl?

Owen’s CLOSER & DUPLICITY co-star Julia Roberts!
