Last week it was revealed that Jon Bernthal had joined the cast of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” – the first castmember announced. Now word comes via Bloody Disgusting that a new name may be attached to the series very soon. That name is Jonny Lee Miller.

Miller is only “in talks” at the moment, but apparently he’s the front-runner to land the role of Rick Grimes, the lead character. Miller, best known for his roles in HACKERS, TRAINSPOTTING and DRACULA 2000, has been a television fixture as of late, starring in shows like “Eli Stone” and “Smith” and, most recently, the BBC’s “Emma”.

An epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has swept the globe, causing the dead to rise and feed on the living. In a matter of months, society has crumbled: There is no government, no grocery stores, no mail delivery, no cable TV. Rick Grimes finds himself one of the few survivors in this terrifying future. A couple months ago he was a small town cop who had never fired a shot and only ever saw one dead body. Separated from his family, he must now sort through all the death and confusion to try and find his wife and son. In a world ruled by the dead, we are forced to finally begin living.

We’ll let you know more as soon as this is confirmed. (Or denied.)
