I’m trying to think back in time and recall whether Kevin Costner’s THE NEW DAUGHTER ever made it to theaters, or is this sucker essentially a straight to DVD genrefest featuring one of bigger stars of the 1990s? I’m thinking this is the later, unless the film had a limited release… but one thing’s for sure: it never went wide.
Considering it stars Costner, having a studio not release this wide has me worried… but we shall see whether it’s groovy or lame on May 18, 2010, when Anchor Bay Entertainment releases the film on both DVD and Blu-ray.
So what kind of features can we look forward to here? Check ’em out!
Not a bad set of features for a movie only a handful of people have seen. What the hell is this movie about, anyway? Oh yeah… John James is a single father who moves to a farm with his two kids after a painful divorce. Soon, his daughter (Ivana Baquero of “Pan’s Labyrinth”) starts behaving ominously, and Dad begins to suspect that the burial mound in a nearby field might have something to do with it.
Sacred burial grounds are always bad news. Whenever you’re scoping for a place to live, make sure to check and see if there’s a burial ground within a 2 mile radius. If there is, move on. It’s not worth the horrifying shenanigans.
Check out the DVD cover below for a super photoshopped Costner , and get ready for THE NEW DAUGHTER on DVD and Blu-ray May 18, 2010. And if you really want to be on top of things, be sure to PRE-ORDER THE NEW DAUGHTER ON DVD RIGHT NOW!
