So back in June of ’09 we rifled a pretty cool looking one-sheet for Mauro Borrelli’s science fiction thriller BOX OF SHADOWS at you. Now that you’ve had ample to time to rest and recover, y’all better duck, because we’re firing a good two clips worth of new stills from the flick your way!

Co-written with Borrelli by Scott Svatos (SUCKER), BOX OF SHADOWS centers around a group of college friends, who discover a 15th century coffin that allows them to experience the world as ghosts. While their first adventures in the spirit world are playful and innocent, the “Box of Shadows” soon brings out the group’s most dangerous impulses and desires. The friends find themselves pulled into a world of evil where they learn the line between life and death is there for a reason.

I actually like this premise, despite the potential cheese factor. Instead of being stalked and felled by the afterlife, here’s a group of characters who experience the ethereal first hand. They get to be the ghosts, which sort of brings a human element of sympathy to the proceedings. Dunno, if handled right, this might seriously be something to keep an eye on. Probably not, but hey, there’s always hope!

Aaron Dean Eisenberg, Liz Fenning, J. Walter Holland, Jared Grey, Jeffrey Damnit (nice name), Domiziano Arcangeli, Karen Lee, Hans Uder, Wes Aderhold, Ruby Staley, Desmond Lawrence, Ford Austin, Don Martin, Edurne Ganem and Scott Svatos all play a part in the film.

BOX OF SHADOWS is due July 2nd, 2010!
