Breck Eisner NOT signed to direct The Brood just yet

Breck Eisner always seems to have his name linked to one remake or another. THE CRAZIES helmer had long been attached to THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, but in December it was reported he had dropped out to make way for Carl Rinsch (whose name might be familiar because he himself was briefly attached to another reboot, that of ALIEN). Eisner has also been attached to FLASH GORDON, although that hasn’t been able to gel for well over a year now. Most recently, his name has been connected to the remake of THE BROOD, which also doesn’t seem like it’s any closer to happening.

“I’m not signed on [The Brood], no…”
Eisner told Sci Fi Wire. “I was approached about the movie, and I’m just in discussions about it.”

“I like the writer, Cory Goodman’s, script… I’m a big fan of the original. I still have yet to decide if it’s something I really want to be doing. Is it a movie for me? I’m still kind of soul-searching on that one.”

Whatever Eisner wants to do, it must be a remake, that much is for sure…
