Is Twilight: Breaking Dawn really being split into two separate movies?

And the story of the year I give the least f*ck about goes to…

TWILIGHT: BREAKING DAWN being split into two separate features.

Yet it’s on the brink folks. Apparently, due to the length of Stephanie Meyer’s novel, Summit Entertainment is still waffling over whether to retain the property as one film or expand it into two different narratives. Of course, from a business standpoint (and perhaps in response to the ungodly success of Cameron’s AVATAR), releasing BREAKING DAWN as two separate entities ensures double the ticket sales. A no brainer for top studio brass, it would seem.

But not so fast. Although Deadline Hollywood today dropped word that BREAKING DAWN will indeed be broken in two, Comingsoon.net sought confirmation from Summit itself and learned that the decision HAS NOT been made at this point.

All this comes on the heels of last month’s statement by TWILIGHT producer Wyck Godfrey, who said “The issue [of whether there will be one or two movies] is not going to be resolved until we get the full treatment and see whether it’s organic. It really has to do with how much level of detail from the books there is, with all of these new vampires that appear in ‘Breaking Dawn,’ the whole section about Jacob… It’s a very long single movie if it does become a single movie.”

Good lord. The idea of a “very long” movie about Jacob (who I can only assume is that ab-flashing Lautner character) is enough to make me as emo-suicidal as f*ckin’ Bella during one of her intense longing-spells.

Thoughts? Could you stomach a 2.5-3 hour TWILIGHT flick? Are you in favor of splitting the film in two? Or do you somehow give less of a shite than I do?

Empty a clip below!

Why the hell isn’t Ashley Greene the lead in these TWILIGHT flicks?
