Oh the Japanese and their funny product names. I don’t know what the hell NEGATIVE HAPPY CHAINSAW EDGE means, but I’ll see it. We got a press release informing us that we’ll get a chance to check it out on DVD on MARCH 30th (though the film was shot in 2007). If you’re as curious about this weirdness as I am, you can check out the trailer below. It’s in Japanese and doesn’t have any subtitles, but you’ll quickly realize that doesn’t really matter. There’s a dude with a giant chainsaw fighting a chick in a school-girl outfit. All anybody needs to know.

Here’s the synopsis: Negative Happy Chainsaw Edge takes place in modern day Tokyo. One night Yosuke (Hayato Ichihara) encounters Eri (Megumi Seki) a beautiful girl in her school uniform and suddenly a surprising battle begins. Pitted against an immortal giant who brandishes a vicious chainsaw, Eri and Yosuke must come together and understand why this chainsaw wielding ghost continues to appear. Is he determined to end their life or simply communicate a dark message and the truth about Eri.

The DVD is apparently packed with extras, although none are yet listed.
