Back in October, we told you that Universal Networks Intl had signed on to finance a 13 episode series called HAVEN, which is based on the Stephen King novel “The Colorado Kid”. Now we know where we’ll be seeing the show: The Syfy channel.
According to Variety, Canadian production company E1 Entertainment will produce the show, which centers on a spooky town in Maine where cursed folk live normal lives in exile. When those curses start returning, FBI agent Audrey Parker is brought in to keep those supernatural forces at bay — while trying to unravel the mysteries of Haven.
Writers Jim Dunn and Sam Ernst worked on the pilot; the two had previously penned episodes of “The Dead Zone”, another Stephen King-inspired t.v. show. Three of HAVEN’s executive producers also worked on “Dead Zone”.
While it’s unknown when the show will air, it’s a good bet it won’t be until 2011.
