I’m not ashamed to say I haven’t hitched onto the “True Blood” bandwagon. So sue me, I am no Sookie convert. But that doesn’t mean I can’t throw a little love to the news side of the proceedings, and it just so happens some steamy tidbits have hit the wire in regards to casting the third season of the hit HBO series.
Apparently straying from the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” axiom, minor-to-major retooling and/or cast addendums are in the works for the popular show, which according to series writer/creator Alan Ball, includes:
*TOMMY MICKENS – a gruff, handsome man in his early ‘20s who turns out to be Sam Merlotte’s long-lost younger brother. It’s said that at some point he’ll be showing his unadorned backside, which, given Sam’s voracity towards a “full moon,” certainly illustrates their connection.
* After his cryptic abduction, Bill is added to “True Blood Gallery of Impossibly Attractive Male Vampires” (or the TBGIAMV). TALBOT, a mordant vampire with a model’s looks, will pop up in the second episode as a guide of sorts for the kidnapped vamp.
* More news on the PYT front comes via the addition of JESUS VELASQUEZ, a pretty boy with a heart of gold who lets sexual jibes (he’s gay) slide off like water to duck’s back (that metaphor is SO wrong).
* In a friendly bit of rivalry, Tara gets her very own over-protective vampire buddy. And a quadruple sexy one at that. FRANKLIN MOTT – a tall dark and handsome vamp, somewhere between 25 and 40 years of age.
* Cooter (Coot, to be sure), a Louisiana hick, de facto leader of a ragtag biker gang. He’s mean, vicious, someone not to be trifled with in the least.
* Jason Stackhouse will find that his salacious musings have taken a hit, when two NYU girls, JEN and MISSY, ménage à try to get him into the sack to little avail.
* YVETTA, Fangtasia’s new exotic Czech dancer, is inextinguishably hot and comfortable living in the nude. Clearly my favorite so far!
* Tara’s perpetually tormented mother turns to the church for comfort (and maybe a little more) in the form of the honorable REVEREND DANIELS. Talk about exorcising the demons!
Straights, gays, shims, herms, switch-hitters, horny clergymen, it’s a free-form sexual party in next years go around!
