Occulterers web series

For those who either missed ZOMBIELAND or are looking for a little levity amidst the endless torture outings, gut-spilling and spine-tingling spook-fests that are all too present this time of year, go ahead and meet Hayden Black and his darkly comedic horror/sci-fi web series “The Occulterers.”

Set up over at bablegum.com, “The Occulterers” revolves around a foursome of inept paranormal investigators, which include Black himself, as well as James C. Leary (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Camden Toy, Ellen Sandweiss (THE EVIL DEAD), and Amy Klein.

Black’s new series took just two weeks from concept to production, and that includes inking the deal with Babelgum. “It’s been an exhilarating experience; from pitching it on a Monday, writing it over 2 days, to shooting it the next week,” said Black over email. “I still think it’s far better than it has any right to be (tubefilter.tv).”

2 weeks from conception to wrapped-production? Oh that technology!

Feel free to watch the entire first webisode Here, and if you feel so inclined, throw a little love to the official Occulterers Facebook page.
