You’d be hard-pressed to find a better made, more thought provoking summer blockbuster than Neill Blomkamp’s DISTRICT 9. It was cerebral, immersive, realistic, and until the final reel of the film, completely believable.

And since it hit the cinematic trifecta (well made, profitable, critically successful), you can bet your keister DISTRICT 10 isn’t too far off.

But until that day, we’ll have to revel in all things D-9. And thanks to the good peeps at IGN, we have a look at the DVD art and special features to the upcoming December 29th release.

The flick will be available in either 1 ($28.96) or 2-disc ($36.95) formats, as well as Blu-ray ($39.95). Bonus materials for the discs are as follows:

• Director’s Commentary

• 3 Part Documentary The Alien Agenda

• The Koobus Big Gun

• Metamorphosis: The Transformation of Wikus *

• Innovation: Acting and Improvisation *

• Conception and Design: Creating the World of District 9 *

• Alien Generation: Visual Effects*

*Only available on the 2-disc or Blu-ray editions.
