30 Days sequel cast

The necessity of a 30 DAYS OF NIGHT sequel is certainly debatable, but given the lot of horror-swill these days, I enjoyed the first one fine enough. Is it a masterpiece? Far from it. But a passable late night fright-flick that skirts a happy ending, I suppose.

Well, our horror brethren over at Bloody-Disgusting have uncovered some key casting news regarding the Ben Ketai directed 30 DAYS OF NIGHT: DARK DAYS, which kicked off rolling today.

And the names are…

Rhys Coiro (the irascible Billy from “Entourage”), Mia Kirshner (EXOTICA, THE CROW II), Harold Perrineau (28 WEEKS LATER, “Lost”), Kiele Sanchez (A PERFECT GETAWAY), Monique Ganderton (THE CABIN IN THE WOODS) and Diora Baird (TCM: THE BEGINNING).

The Columbia/Ghost House joint production of the sequel, slated for direct-to-video release, continues:

After nearly a year of struggling to expose the truth, a desperate and lonely Stella decides to join a group of rogue vampire hunters to seek revenge on Lilith, the powerful vampire responsible for the attack on her Alaskan town…

Sounds like the pallid vampire craze is here to stay. Let’s be honest though, I’d let Baird and Sanchez sink their teeth in any day!
