By most accounts (of those who’ve seen it), horror high flier Ti West’s THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL is a moody, effective piece of throwback 80s horror. It’s said to strike the chord between storytelling and fright, slowly building to an intense, bloodcurdling finale.

And while I can’t attest to that sentiment, I can with certainty say we have a good handful of images from the flick.

Of the bunch, there’s three in particular that tickle my fancy. I like the eerie shot of the titular house, looking modern yet Victorian gothic. Another is the blood dappled face of our heroine Jocelin Donahue, still managing to look cute (above). And the third is the silhouetted profile shot of Donahue holding a knife (below). That shit rocks!

We’ve posted a lot lately about THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL, so I doubt you’re muddy on the plot. In case you are rockin’ cobwebs though, the flick takes place in the 80s and sees:

College student Samantha Hughes takes a strange babysitting job that coincides with a full lunar eclipse. She slowly realizes her clients harbor a terrifying secret; they plan to use her in a satanic ritual.

NICE!

THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL premiered On Demand October 1st and can be seen in theaters on October 30th.
