While it may be no surprise that writer/director Eli Roth (HOSTEL, CABIN FEVER) is forging head with the expansion of pseudo-trailer THANKSGIVING into a feature film, some of his upcoming projects in the horror and sci-fi realm just may.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Roth explained he’s expecting to finish the script to science fiction project ENDANGERED SPECIES this month, a flick he still fully intends to direct himself after 2 year absence from holding the megaphone. This isn’t all that new either, as it’s been purported the flick is aiming for a PG-13 rating and may reteam Roth with INGLOURIOUS BASTEREDS costar Brad Pitt, not to mention Josh Brolin.

So moving on. In terms of producing credit, Roth and Co. (Strike Media) are currently filming Daniel Stamm’s thriller COTTON, about a troubled evangelical minister that agrees to let his last exorcism be filmed by a documentary crew. That film stars Patrick Fabian, Iris Bahr, Ashley Bell, Louis Herthum, Tony Bentley, Caleb Jones, Shanna Forrestall, Alan Boudreaux, and is still clinging to an unspecified 2009 release date.

Roth is also busy lending a hand to The Rza’s (Robert Diggs) directorial debut, an apt martial arts flick called THE MAN WITH THE IRON FIST which is also in early development. It’s been said that Rza has been long studying first-hand filmmaking on the set of friends Quentin Tarantino (for whom he scored KILL BILL) and Jim Jarmusch (GHOST DOG, COFFEE AND CIGARETTES). Not sure about you, but I’m flat out geeked to see how this project ends up.
