More Let Me In casting!

So a few months back our boy Mike Catalano reported some casting news regarding the American remake of Swedish vampire elegy LET THE RIGHT ONE IN.

LET ME IN, as the new rendition will be called, was said to star Aussie born actor Kodi Smit-McPhee (THE ROAD), with 12 year old Chloe Moretz (THE AMITYVILLE HORROR) as the front-running love interest.

Well now, word has hit that Smit-McPhee and Moretz will indeed star as the two children in the new flick, helmed by CLOVERFIELD director Matt Reeves. At the prospect of his new cast, Reeves excites: “Kodi, Chloe, and Richard are my absolute dream cast, I couldn’t be more excited to be working with them.”

And that brings me to the third and newest casting announcement, the one I’m most excited about. Long-lived character actor and Oscar nominee Richard Jenkins has just been added to the stable of players. Here’s a man who brings instant credibility to an acting troupe, a man with roughly 90 screen credits under his belt, spanning all genres (even horror, in flicks like WITCHES OF EASTWICK & WOLF).

Jenkins will play the lead adult in the film, similar to Hakan in the original.

The project is set up at Overture Films, and has a tentative 2010 release slate.
