Highlander remake soon

I’m in no way a major HIGHLANDER geek. I’m only slightly familiar with the first one (although I remember Clancy Brown’s wacky performance vividly), I’ve never really seen the sequels, and I never watched a single episode of the t.v. show. So while I can’t get too up in arms over the idea of “rebooting” HIGHLANDER, I still feel the general disgust I feel whenever one of these random remakes is announced… All it means for sure is that good money will go toward re-doing something that already exists, instead of making something new. (Yes, I realize that’s the understatement of the year.)

Summit Entertainment, the studio we all know and love because they made TWILIGHT and SORORITY ROW, is behind this update. They’ve hired Neal Moritz (FAST & FURIOUS) to produce and Justin Lin (FAST & FURIOUS) to direct… So this is basically HIGHLANDER, FAST AND FURIOUS-style. Excited yet?

IRON MAN screenwriters Art Marcum and Matt Holloway are hard at work thinking of ways to decapitate people and just where to have Connor MacLeod scream his first “There can be only one!”

Maybe if the creative team were more inspired, I could feel one way or another about this. As is, I’m already bored.
