Kusama/Weisz horror?

With demonic-cheerleader flick JENNIFER’S BODY set to take a bite out of theatergoers this weekend, director Karyn Kusama has hinted her next project will be cut from the same cloth as Cronenberg’s halcyon “body-horror” films.

Co-writing the potential project, Kasuma (GIRL FIGHT, AEON FLUX) tells i09 that her consecutive foray into the macabre already has Oscar winning actress Rachel Weisz (seen below) attached. The Brooklyn native added:

There’s a screenplay I wrote a while a go with a partner that has a sort of element of horror, although I would call it a psychological horror in the David Cronenberg tradition, that I’m tying to get made. It definitely does fall into sort of a body horror movie that deals very, very specifically with our concept of gender. I can’t really talk to you specifically about it other than to say that Rachel Weisz is attached to the film.

I don’t know how you get much more bodily than casting Megan Fox, but damn, if Kusama can render anything like Cronenberg’s early work (i.e. SCANNERS, SHIVERS) – I’m down to instantly boost this shite to the top of my “must see” list. What do you all think, she got the chops or what?
