Those of us intrigued by Takeshi Shimizu’s newest thriller THE SHOCK LABYRINTH received some good news today – looks as though the film has been picked up for international distribution by Fortissimo Films. While the film, of course, is set for release in Japan later this year, now it’s a sure bet we’ll be getting a look at it in other territories. No definite dates have been revealed, but I’d guess some time this Winter in the states, if not early-mid 2010.
In case you missed ’em, here’s the synopsis, followed by the trailer, which is pretty neat. The film follows a group of teenagers dealing with the sudden return of a friend who went missing a decade ago. When the friend falls ill, they take her to a hospital but end up trapped in a labyrinthine haunted house.
