The remake of STRAW DOGS, starring James Marsden (for some reason), is well into pre-production, and still casting up. In addition to the recently announced Kate Bosworth and Alexander Skarsgard, director Rod Lurie (THE LAST CASTLE, THE CONTENDER) has also added James Woods, Dominic Purcell, and Walton Goggins.

James Woods needs no introduction. The man is still a cool motherf*cker, and his addition instantly makes this movie more appealing than it had been before today. Purcell (pictured) you might recognize as the rock-star Dracula from BLADE: TRINITY, as well as from “Prison Break”; Goggins was a major player in the series “The Shield”.

STRAW DOGS follows Los Angeles screenwriter David Sumner (Marsden), who moves with his wife to her hometown in the deep South. Once there, tensions build in their marriage and old conflicts re-emerge with the locals, leading to a violent confrontation.

The film has a February 11th, 2011 release date set.
