Earlier this year, there was news about a mysterious Robert Rodriguez property known as NERVERACKER, which the director had set up with the Weinstein Company. The flick, set in 2085, centers on a character named Joe Tezca who is part of an elite unit dispatched to quell a crime wave in a theoretically perfect future society. In the process, he discovers that “Nerverackers” are on a rampage for control of the city. Tezca consequently sets forth on a mission to reveal the cover up by the ruling class and stop the “Nerverackers” before time runs out.
We still don’t know what these “Nerverackers” are, however. Guess it’s going to be a while before we find out.
Once upon a time, NERVERACKER had a release date of April 16, 2010. Well, that’s now changed… Box Office Mojo now has the date listed as “TBA” – meaning it’s in limbo. Of course, this news is hardly surprising, considering that in recent weeks we’ve learned that Rodriguez is heavily involved in a PREDATOR reboot and a MACHETE film… He’s a busy man; NERVERACKER will have to wait.
