Elijah Wood doesn’t want to EXPERIMENT anymore – at least that’s what The Hollywood Reporter has revealed. Wood, whom had been attached to THE EXPERIMENT – a remake of Oliver Hirschbiegel’s 2001 German hit – for some time, has been replaced by former Calvin Klein model Travis Fimmel (pictured right).
Former “Lost” hottie Maggie Grace (pictured below) has also joined the cast.
Both actors join Adrien Brody, Forest Whitaker, Clifton Collins Jr. and Cam Gigandet in Paul Scheuring’s (“Prison Break”) film.
THE EXPERIMENT revolves around several dozen men who, as part of a scientific experiment, are chosen to simulate the roles of prisoners and guards, prompting a host of dark consequences. The story is based on an incident at Stanford University in 1971 in which an experiment that sought to find out how ordinary people would react in a prison situation went horribly awry.
Sony has boarded the flick, which is already underway in Iowa, and will release it sometime next year.
