The Host 2 close?

Looks like we’re a little closer to seeing THE HOST 2, which is, of course, a sequel – or prequel (?) – to the fantastic Korean monster movie hit, THE HOST. According to SciFi Japan, a Singaporean film company called Boku Films will be investing at least $5 million into the production of the further adventures of the…. well, whatever that thing is.

The downside is, a script has not been decided upon, even though there are apparently multiple concepts being floated around, including a prequel written by comic book creator Kang Full. For that matter, we don’t know who the director will be, or who (if anyone) from the first film’s cast is returning.

Meanwhile, the American remake of THE HOST is still stalled, although the last we heard, Gore Verbinki (director of all three PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN movies) was producing the flick. I’ll be honest, I’m somewhat curious about this particular remake – not getting my hopes up, mind you, just interested. (I can actually see it never happening, which might be just as well.)
