I struggled briefly with whether or not I should prop the Matt Damon sci-fi flick ADUSTMENT BEAUREU here on AITH, but I decided to based on two factors: 1) It’s based on a Philip K. Dick story, and I think it’s safe to say that folks ’round these parts dig that particular Dick, and 2) According to Variety, the film is to co-star Emily Blunt, meaning I can post two hot pictures of the stunning English actress. Really, at the end of the day, it was no choice at all.
If the short story’s synopsis sounds familiar, then you’ve probably seen DARK CITY: A real estates salesman, finds out that our world is really, in effect, one big soundstage controlled by strange and mysterious guardians.
However, Variety describes the film-version this way: Damon plays a smooth-talking congressman whose political future is thrown in doubt by a series of uncontrollable events and the arrival in his life of a mysterious ballerina, played by Blunt.
The flick will be directed by George Nolfi, who has worked with Damon before: He co-wrote the screenplays to OCEANS’S TWELVE and THE BOURNE SUPREMACY…. TOTAL RECALL, MINORITY REPORT and BLADE RUNNER are just a few of the films loosely adapted from Philip K. Dick stories. (As if you needed to be told.)
