Looks like there’s an unlikely showdown set for MARCH 19th, 2010: Bloodthirsty killer fish vs. Nicolas Cage’s hair. Truth be told, I can’t wait to see both!

Lionsgate has just grabbed that date for Dominic Sena’s SEASON OF THE WITCH, meaning it’ll go head-to-head with Alexandre Aja’s PIRANHA 3-D. Set in a medieval Europe, SEASON OF THE WITCH is about a knight (Nicolas Cage) escorting a girl (Claire Foy, pictured below) accused of being the witch behind the Black Plague.

The only reason I’m interested in this movie is because I’m sure it’ll be a laugh f*cking riot. Any film in which Cage sports a bizarre toupée/wig is guaranteed to be hilarious. Throw in the director of GONE IN 60 SECONDS, Ron Perlman, and everybody presumably putting on silly accents, and we’ve got ourselves a winner. Just look at the above picture… How much more proof do you need?!
