Oy, here we go again. Looks like we’re getting another AMERICAN WEREWOLF movie in the near future. But will it be a remake, or a sequel? There are some conflicting reports…
The homeboys over at Bloody Disgusting originally reported that John Landis sold the remake rights to AMERICAN WEREWOLF to Dimension Films. That, of course, makes me want to puke… But, the kooks over at AintItCoolNews have their own source on the matter, saying that it won’t be a straight-up remake, but a series of movies with a similar angle. So, basically, AN AMERICAN WEREFOLF IN CHINA; AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN GREENLAND, etc. This is slightly better than just remaking it, but then I begin to think about AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN PARIS… and then I become sad.
This doesn’t seem close to happening yet, but obviously it’s in the cards. We’ll be getting some form of AMERICAN WEREWOLF film in the future, whether you like it or not. That said, it’s Dimension, so for all we know it could take eons to get off the ground. (HELLRAISER remake, where are you..?)
