Hills Run Red poster

Here you get a look at the DVD/Blu-Ray art for the straight-to-DVD Warner Bros. release, THE HILLS RUN RED. The nasty flick – which has been getting very positive buzz recently from people lucky enough to see it – comes from Joel Silver’s Dark Castle company.

As my colleague Mr. Ammon pointed out, the cover manages to rip off both TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and THE HILLS HAVE EYES. (Seriously, they just stole the font in that case.) Can’t blame the movie on that front though; hopefully it will speak for itself when it’s released this Fall.

The story centers on a film fanatic whose obsession with finding a complete print of an infamous slasher movie leads him and two friends into the backwoods where the film was shot. They realize too late that filming never ended — and now they must survive a nightmarish onslaught or become part of the movie forever.

Tad Hilgenbrink, William Sadler, Alex Wyndham and sexy Sophie Monk (pictured below) star in Dave Parker’s film, which nabbed an R rating for “strong bloody horror violence and torture, grisly images, sexual content, nudity, language and some drug use.” Other than that, it’s fine for general audiences…

(Thanks to Joey Monda – who has seen hills of a different kind run red – for the heads up! (Not even sure what I’m implying, but it’s probably disturbing.))
