Rosemary’s Baby is dead

Having just brought you a scoop about one of Platinum Dunes’ next films, I have another one about a remake they are not doing. That would be ROSEMARY’S BABY. You can all sigh in relief now…

While not groundbreaking news because the project has seemed dead for a while, Plainum Dunes honcho Brad Fuller basically confirmed that we will not be seeing the Roman Polanski classic updated – at least not on their watch. Instead, it seems to have morphed into a different, original idea, concocted by Scott Kosar, scribe behind THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and AMITYVILLE HORROR remakes. The film is now referred to as THE SACRIFICE.

The guys didn’t get into a time-table for this film, but they are developing it. Obviously, it would appear that FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 2 is their main priority after A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET.

I’ll have more tidbits from the set of NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET – as well as a full report about the remake – very soon…
