This has been floating out there for a short while now, but I figured I’d bring it to everybody’s attention since it looks pretty compelling: The English teaser for MOTHER. And what’s MOTHER? (Besides that person who washes your underwear for you?) It’s the new film from director Bong Joon-Ho, who also directed fanboy favorites THE HOST and MEMORIES OF MURDER. MOTHER is fresh out of Cannes and has just opened in South Korea. We’re awaiting dates for other territories, but for now we’ll have to make do with the trailer, which makes it look to be a murder mystery tinged with serious drama – and maybe a small dose of Bong Joon-Ho’s wicked, subtle dark humor. The film tells the story of a simple man framed for a gruesome murder, and his mother’s quest to find the real killer.
