Bret Easton Ellis is digging further into the movie business.
Last month I informed you that he had written a screenplay for the film version of his novel LUNAR PARK, which may star Benicio Del Toro one day. Well, the AMERICAN PSYCHO and LESS THAN ZERO author has moved on already, penning an untitled screenplay about an awkward social outcast who takes hostage a group of peers who humiliated him, with grim results. If you’ve ever read AMERICAN PSYCHO or Ellis’ really bizarre GLAMORAMA, you know that the man has a penchant for vividly describing some truly nasty acts, so I can only imagine what “grim results” are in store for us…
Ted Hartley, who is set to produce the flick for Roseblood Movie Co., calls this a “…a joyously scary film, typical of the best of the genre and an exciting addition to the Roseblood slate.”
Brad Fuhrman (THE TAKE) is attached to direct the flick, which will begin shooting during the summer. Roseblood Movie Co. is the company behind the remakes of the RKO classics “I Walked With a Zombie,” “Bedlam” and “Monkey’s Paw.”
